About

Hello! My name is Levi Joraanstad. I was born in February of 1995, in the small town of Rolla, North Dakota. I was born under loving parents alongside two older brothers. I grew up in Rolla most of my childhood, where I attended Kyle Elementary School (Mount Pleasant) and met some of my lifelong friends. I enjoyed playing sports, hanging out with friends, and playing video games.

Today, I am a college student majoring in Computer Science at North Dakota State University. I chose computer science because I grew up around computers, and grew to love them and understand them. I have always been tech savvy and interested in the intricate design that goes into creating computer software and hardware. My passion is for the design of software; making things look nice. I partially started this site to build on that passion, and showcase some of my skills.

However, I didn't just create this website for that. In January of 2016, I recieved a Raspberry Pi 2 Model B mini-computer from my mother as an early birthday present (after some begging). I quickly learned the in's and out's of the Pi, and soon wanted to host my own website. A few days later, I had a full website up and running with external access from anywhere. The site didn't do anything special, but rather was a test to see what I could do.

I decided to take that a step further and began to make it look nice,as well as display my resume, projects, and hobbies for future employers. I wanted employers to be able to navigate to my site, and find out most of everything they would be interested in and see some of my skills in action. That didn't last long. Soon, I was turning it into a blog where I could post my thoughts on the presidential race, cyber security, books, and more. Then came the War Museum, where I could show off my personal collection of cool old stuff. Since then it has continued to grow.

Anyways, I hope you like the site. It's come a long way from its early beginnings in January of 2016. It's currently hosted using FreeHostia.com, since my Pi/home network couldn't handle displaying all the pictures. Have a look around!
